The RoleAs Compliance Officer , you will help the Head of Compliance to oversee implementation of the compliance system, and likewise the identification, monitoring, and control of compliance and business risks.
How you'll contributeKnows the general operations of the company without necessarily engaging or actively participating in the day-to-day operations of the firmAttends to major and critical regulatory issues and concerns affecting the company's operations and makes necessary recommendations to resolve various regulatory concerns/issues affecting the CompanyAssists in the formulation of replies to cited exceptions by the regulatory agencies such as BSP and SECMonitors and ensures immediate resolution of audit findingsEnsures open communication process within the company and its subsidiaries through regular meetings, distribution of manuals, and dissemination of regulatory issuances to educate officers and staff on regulatory requirements, their potential impact on the institution's operations, and address compliance mattersPromotes a compliance culture in the company that balances customer and business requirements with regulatory requirementsPromotes effective implementation of a compliance program by addressing breaches that may arise, reporting these breaches including the actions taken to the Corporate Governance Committee and the Board, recommending the imposition of the appropriate disciplinary action on the responsible parties, as well as the adoption of measures for their speedy resolution and prevention of recurrence of the violation, and proposing policies that will address findings and identified weaknesses resulting from compliance testing activitiesEnsures periodic review of the compliance function to measure its effectiveness and that all cited deficiencies are properly addressed in a timely mannerOversees and coordinates the implementation of the compliance system of SBFC to its personnelEnsures compliance to SBFC and SBC's internal policies and guidelinesParticipates in the formulation of the business requirements for any system enhancement to ensure compliance with regulatory bodiesEnsures that SBFC's Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Prevention Program (MLPP) is updated and consistent with the MLPP of the Parent BankEnsures compliance by all SBFC officers and employees with the company's MLPPParticipates in the regular review and updating of the Parent Bank's AMLA reporting system to ensure conformity of SBFC's CTR and STR reporting policies/procedures with AMLC and BSP rules and regulationsUpdates the Corporate Governance Manual of SBFC to incorporate changes/updates in pertinent rules, regulations, and laws, if anyMaintains and ensures implementation of updated manuals as prescribed by BSP, SEC, and AMLC such as but not limited to MLPP, Corporate Governance Manual, Compliance Manual, and company operations manualUpdates the Compliance Program to incorporate changes or amendments in-laws and regulations and ensure its proper implementationWhat we're looking forGraduate of Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or any related fieldShould have at least 5 years relevant experience in the banking, credit card companies, leasing/financing InstitutionsFamiliarity with Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) rules.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
